Hi all a friend of mine has a 1997 International tow truck with the 7.3l engine and a spicer 5 speed trans and the truck seems to be lacking power. My question is what can be done to get a couple of extra horses out of it. He doesn't need anything like 500hp just something to get it to move a little better while towing.

depends on how much you wanna spend. intake and exhaust is cheaper, tuners, injectors, the list goes on.

 

water/methanol injection might help

 

do intake and straight pipe 4 inch and see how it is with that
