What about just cuttin one slot through the bumper and use some sheet metal to fab up a tunnel that would force that air through the cooler. Somthin similar to a fan shroud.

Use a piece of Airplane landing ramp; plenty of big holes and sturdy.

Sorry for not responding a while, and yes, I do appreciate being kicked in the butt and reminded to go back to work on it!

No, didn't forget this post- it's freakin' cold outside and I organized a heated garage to get behind that stupid bumper, which requires a T40 torx bolts to dismount it.

Guess, which size I don't have in my tool chest?
So I ordered a complete torx set, which is still on backorder.

I really like the idea of mounting an air duct.
It seems that those Chrysler dumbhead engineers have done anything to prevent cooling and airflow on the intercooler. I'm asking myself for what the intercooler unit is good for without any air flow-just the suction by the visco fan behind it.

Air flow itself is completley blocked.

I want to make a bunch of pictures to show how it looks like.
How can I cut those slots into the bumper nice and straight?
I really hate those wrinkeled and crunched cuts. I really would like to have them like the Mercedes bumper as seen above.
I already organized an aluminum sheet metal to fab an air ducting out of it.

As soon as I get the torx bolts I will dismount the bumper and drive around to watch EGT's.
If EGT's drop - it works.

Plasma cutter. That, or use a high speed cutoff wheel.

I say make yourself up a custom bumper (I see now that has already been mentioned)- or buy an aftermarket one and do some custom work to it (although Im not sure how legal that would be in Germany)

These guys make decent bumpers:

I wish i could get my hands on a 99 Cherokee diesel...

Thank you, Dr!
Maybe I should mention that those custom Bumpers aren't allowed any longer.
Pedestrian safety!
It's just one of the several hundred new laws of the European community.
To much sharp corners.
Think of that:
Metal Bull Bars aren't allowed any longer too-only if they are made of plastic!
Whats that good for???

Dip it in that plastic-coat stuff you use to put the coating on your tool handles.
