California Emissions have done it again!

Because for the most part the number of people that have been smoked out on the freeway and surface streets or sitting at a bus stop out number us. Face it. Irresponsible behavior is mostly to blame for this. We are a very easy to spot, highly visible target and if you want to be pissed at someone, look for the "how do I make my truck smoke more" threads. There you go folks, there is the reason this has happened!

The government is way too involved! Period. If people don't like us stinky, smoky diesels out on the roads then they can get together and tell us about it themselves. I'm not saying I enjoy irritating other people, but we don't need the government getting involved in minor matters like this. Besides, I'd like to see one politician that really cares about the people and not with lining their own pockets. When you get in a position of power like they're in, you'll abuse it. They have to much power. Ask any trucker - regulation, for the most part, is to generate revenue.

True, California is not the first, but CA is a leader in poor policy. This year its just an easy test, but that is just to pacify us, in the future it will be more stringent. Just as at first it was for bigger diesel 10k and heavier, now its almost all of them.
I'm not afraid of global warming (if it indeed is warming) I am afraid of the poor policy that will cripple the economy and chip away at our right.
Remember DDT.... well sure its bad when used indiscriminately, instead of limiting its use it was banned and thousands and thousands of people who could have been saved are now dead from Malaria.
In So cal before there was much knowledge about fertlilzer the farmers dumped 1-50x more than was needed, out well water still has high nitrates because of it. Well now they know how much to use. Glad they didn't outlaw fertilizer
