It just so happens that diesels are the target. Weather it be your daily driver or the big trucks on the interstate. The trucking industry as awhole is getting so way over regulated and is a big target right now from hours of service to idleing laws in certain citys and not being able to run a reefer. Theese people are complaining about trucks idleing because it is too loud and polutes the air. How the hell are theese drivers supposed to sleep comfortably in either 0 deg weather or 100deg. In certain places if you have a animal with you ie cat or dog then you can idle your truck but if not no idleing so basically to theese people the dog or cat is more impotant than a human dieing of heat stroke or hypothermia. . My point is they are heading in the direction of we are a free nation but you cant do this or that anymore just like smoking no smoking in public places now now smoking in bars. pretty soon no smoking at all . Just cause a few make the rules and we all go allong with it a little at a time pretty soon its snow balling out of our controll just how they want it to. So it will always be something weather it be blowing smoke with your truck or blowing smoke from your cigarette its all going to regulated in one way or another JMO and thoughs on the whole thing

Exactly....and that's how the sheepherders wanted it...for the flock to follow along like a programmed train.

Problem the sheepherder forgets sometimes that the sheep dogs do 99% of the work and if the herder don't feed 'em, well....a wolf or two might come along and ****** a couple sheep.

It's about time we took our country back, starting with responsible behavior and aggressive yet diplomatic resistance to the status quo.

Freedom, in my opinion gives you certain rights, abilities and possibilities.
You can do everything you want to do. But in that moment you are limiting, disturbing, embarrassing others you should be responsible and recognize the natural limit.
When you feel the need "to smoke" you could do it. Just make sure you don't offend someone.
It's the same like smoking cigarettes. If you disturb the public majority, you get fined. I can see some parallels.

If we as Americans could only be that mature and responsible our country wouldn't be in this mess. But unfortunately as a whole we just don't have that ability for self control.

to me, there are only few cases that the black smoke is considered cool, and thats when you see a well built truck pullin sleds or on a strip, where you know that those trucks are making some insane power. Now i know if you want power, chances are you are going to have some smoke. that i can live with. but if you are just putting all this money into a truck just so you can see raw fuel, then why dont you just take the fuel and dump it on the ground, because all they are doing is wasting it. i realize that some people are trying to imitate some of these pullers, but enough is enough. i want more than anything to see the pulls when i am old and grey and still hear the roar of these trucks. i dont want to go and basically see a diesel version of a prius or a smartcar (nothing against those two, just using as reference to very efficient cars, not intended to offend hybrid lovers). i want to show my kids and grandkids my favorite hobby. i am a diesel lover for life and i dont want people like me to be stereotypically judged because of these people that dont give a darn about the EPA and who get us more and more regulations against us.

Agreed. There is a difference in a street or highway and a drag strip. I love diesel trucks as well and would like to share it with my kids someday. There is a time and place for everything (rolling coal). I also agree that it is a huge waste of fuel. Every time you waste that fuel its more money out of pocket and I for one don't have tons of money to waste. I like it, I really do, and I admit I do it sometimes when I can get my truck to actually do it but not every stop light.

I'm going to say this now no matter who it pisses off. Stop knocking on fuel efficient cars!!! They may look funny but they get twice the fuel economy of our trucks and they are a step in the right direction for the environment. I know that sounds stupid but thats why I bought a diesel, because they are cleaner than fossil fuels and I want to do my part for the environment. If you say you don't care about the environment then you can drown or live in a barren world of death and decay, I don't care. I for one don't want to have to live on an island cramped together with a bunch of people because we destroyed the ozone and all the ice melted. So next time you want to smoke out that little hybrid, think past the end of your nose a little before you make yourself look like an ***. Like mentioned before, you may be smoking a fellow brother or sister and in a sense we are all trying to do something good for the planet whether it is in the form of efficient fossil fuels or diesel fuels.

Also, if your pissed about the restrictions that the EPA is placing on us, stop blaming the other guy for doing the same thing you do. (Directed at people who roll coal but blame others or the EPA for the restrictions). I am guilty for blowing smoke and will be the first to admit it, and as such I will take my share of the responsibility and also do what I can to fix it without blaming the rest of the diesel community. Take the log out of your eye before trying to take the splinter our of someone else's. It starts with us and it will end with us.

x2 on the good debate. but something that really bugs me is when people come on to diesel sites and ask how to make smoke. why cant we write a nice little paragraph explaining why this is wrong and how it is hurting us as a diesel community in the long term. then the next time a new member asks for info on smoke we just copy and paste it for our response.

No reason at all why we can't do this, be sure to let us know when you have it ready.
