All's I'm saying is we can do our part to no get to the point where our overbearing government makes another rule to tell us how to live.

Or, we can go on with the blinders on and wonder why we have all the overbearing rules later on, and long for the "good old days" when none of the rules were in place.

The "good old days" are why we have seat belts, air bags, cars that are more of a cocoon to house drooling morons who shouldn't have a driver's license than they are a fun ride, oxygenated gas, ULSD fuels, "green" this, "hybrid" that, etc etc.

Just common sense, that's all.

I do get much amusement from how defensive some people get when they are forced admit their own hypocrisy though...

...and also amused that the obvious nature of how defensive the majority gets when you talk about laying smoke.....duh, of course not every trail is done intentionally, but notice how we all get defensive when someone mentions a smoke trail because "they're not all of malicious intent." No kidding....too bad the malicious minority is making everyone look bad, that's all I'm sayin'...

Would we all as hunters like to take the gun away from the mouth-breather who fires into the woods at the first crack of a branch? Of course we would.

Well, he's gonna F it up for everybody else, but I guess we shouldn't bother having firearms education then because it makes all hunters guilty until proven innocent. That doesn't make sense, right? Same logic with diesel trucks, folks.

Some people crack me up.

can we all at least agree that the black smoke is cool? its more then likely what the majority of us bought a diesel for to be able to show off. oh and by the way if black smoke thing is an issue then we all need to contact the t.v. channel CMT i was watchin it the other day and they had a little truck in the corner blowin black smoke out the stack. maybe it was a tractor but still its obvious that at least the angle that cmt was goin for is more than likely the "Redneck" crowd which would probly say the black smoke thing is still cool sorry

diesel education? what can we tell them... DO NOT TURN THAT FULL FUEL SCREW.

smoke out a diesel is like a women with a can of hair spray. you tell them not to use its f-ing up the O_ZONE...tell your wife g/f,mom that ... then post on here and tell us how that goes over..
or take a can of air whip away from a fat man and tell him he is f-ing the ozone..
or a farmer tell him he needs to sell all his cows and horses and pigs, and such.. there farts are f-ing up the o-zone..
somebody will find something wrong some where.and start crap, and try to give it a bad name. i bet once you them people are alone.. they be doing what they are bitching about...

Does anybody else get the point that the "everybody else does it" "nobody's gonna change" "tell it to so & so" are exactly the reasons WHY we have so many laws, rule, and regulations already that have screwed this country up?

If we can self-regulate, self-moderate, self-police, and in general use-our-friggin'-brains, we won't need the sheepherder government to do it for us.

I thought we were smarter than that.

Sometimes Its not the minorities that get rules changed , its the responsible majorities that get them changed.

who else cares enough to put forth the effort to change things ... problem is the majority does not realize the appending Shot Gun Blast they are going to get ! So in the end they kick there self in the *** for opening there mouth.

Perfect example , in a factory atmosphere a guy thinks hes perfect so he bitches to management everyday that people who mess things up all the time are not held accountable , so they start practicing accountability... Mr perfect messes up and gets fired .

You dont see the guy blowing smoke going to washington and trying to make them put a stop to it ! Unless your ATS ......are you ATS dan?

Been fun debating this but i realized about 5 years ago im never going to win a debate with dan so my POV is the same as his bluntly .... you shouldnt do it.

I hereby bow out of this discussion

I would be floored if anybody on this site truely has never looked in the mirror to see there carbon footprint and grinned. But there is a time and place for everything. There are some people around my area that just see if they can shut down a highway. That is ridiculous. But I wont loose any sleep if I throw some soot. Hell I had a guy the other day at the gas station that got into his little honda with lambo doors and more neons that a strip bar and bassing that tarded techno stuff, Pull up to me and ask in a very broken english language to race me. Bet your *** I was glad he was on my right and he had his window down. Was it deserved? Absolutly. Not to get off topic, How about his polution. Noise polution disturbs me far worse than some soot. Between that big ole muffler and that rattling bass clunker. But it doesnt matter what the subject is, Some one will mess it up for everybody, And there is a time and place for everything. And that is one subject that I am an expert on. I work for the railroad. For every dumb rule there was actually someone that did it and got hurt. As far as cyclist, I am a weekend mountain biker. I do what I am supposed to do and keep my *** on the trails. I would be affraid to ride in the street around here. I mean there are idiots that do that here, and maybe they need to get nailed with a tow mirror to make them realize Roads are for cars and trails and sidewalks are for bikes. I am not talking bad about cyclist but it is unsafe. Maybe we need to start taking our trucks down these beautiful scenic trails made for bikes. gasp gasp. I am off the soap box now Sorry if I offended anyone, But cant we all just get along.

DM you quit too easily.

...and I'm in no way an employee, customer of, or fan of ATS.

..and if Mr. Perfect would have gathered all employees (citizens) together, like those who were messing up AND those who weren't but would rather complain under their breath than actually stick their neck out to say something and get branded (god forbid) public enemy #!, and discuss things as a group and change things BEFORE management (government) was forced to take action overbearingly and in their typical F'd way.......he probably wouldn't get fired, but if he did then it is his own fault for being a hypocrite.

I'm not advocating crying to the government to change it.....more gov't control is the LAST thing we need......I'm saying WE as people, hobbyists, etc can change things BEFORE it gets to the point where some dumbass cries to the government about it and unnecessary and needless change is forced upon us.

Sadly, we are probably too late to the party for diesels as a whole. The wheels have been turning for a couple years now...

Basically there is always going to be something more and more to be banned, regulated and outlawed ect. weather it be "blowin smoke" or nothing pertaining to our fields of interest here on db. I feel this is the way the Gov has gotten there is always going to be there that wants to make a name for him self (or) her self to go with the crowd that either has potentially the most power or money ((and right now the big thing is enviromentalists)dont get me wrong im all for taking care of the enviroment too but by no way an extremist and am going to live my life in a shell and not enjoy life you only get one right and who knows when its all over either))to make them (politician) look good and line their pockets. It just so happens that diesels are the target. Weather it be your daily driver or the big trucks on the interstate. The trucking industry as awhole is getting so way over regulated and is a big target right now from hours of service to idleing laws in certain citys and not being able to run a reefer. Theese people are complaining about trucks idleing because it is too loud and polutes the air. How the hell are theese drivers supposed to sleep comfortably in either 0 deg weather or 100deg. In certain places if you have a animal with you ie cat or dog then you can idle your truck but if not no idleing so basically to theese people the dog or cat is more impotant than a human dieing of heat stroke or hypothermia. . My point is they are heading in the direction of we are a free nation but you cant do this or that anymore just like smoking no smoking in public places now now smoking in bars. pretty soon no smoking at all . Just cause a few make the rules and we all go allong with it a little at a time pretty soon its snow balling out of our controll just how they want it to. So it will always be something weather it be blowing smoke with your truck or blowing smoke from your cigarette its all going to regulated in one way or another JMO and thoughs on the whole thing
