Default Bed liners

I am thinking of getting a bed liner. I have a bed cover and really do not need one that often but I rarely need insurance but I have it.

I am debating between the spray in type, or the bed rug. I have the rubber one now but I really do not like the way it has gaps around the edges. My questions are as follows.

What is the best spray in liner and what is the expected cost?
What is the best bed rug and again what is the expected cost?
If I remove my bed cover do the spray in liners fade and crack?
Do the bed rugs mildew if they get wet?
Finally, if I get the spray in liner should I get it to stop at the rails or go over the rails?

Thanks for the input.

i don't think there is one liner that's better than others. line-x and rhino seem to be the most well known but there are a few others like speedliner and gator(??) that make a decent product. i've had experience with rhino and line-x. out of the two i prefer my experience with line-x. i like it's texture much better. it seems to bond a little better than rhino. it doesn't bleed coloring like rhino has been known to do. and it doesn't seem to fade as much as rhino.

i think line-x is around $450 here in commie-sota. i can't tell you if you should go over the rails or not. that's really best left up to you. some people like it because of the protection. others don't because it digs into their arms when they reach over so they wind up putting rail caps on anyway. i prefer over the rail.

i don't know much about the bed rugs. friend of mine had one and it seemed like a decent product as long as you didn't use your bed for work. he got his because he had a topper and his dogs rode back there. it worked good for that. he also pulled it when it got real wet and let it dryout. this also let him wipe the bed down so moisture didn't sit between the rug and bed.

hope this helps.
