Hey, I have to do some cab-swapping, floor repair, etc. and I really need to figure out an easy way to remove the cab from the frame (pick one: 79 Dodge, 85 Dodge and 89 Dodge). I know how to unbolt the cab, but I'm at a loss as to how to remove it from the frame...I'm a big guy, but not that big

The current patient is the 79 dodge, I want to replace the floorboards, clean up the underside and then cleanup the frame underneath. In fairness, the 79 is a gasser, but the process should be the same, I'll do the same for the 89 1-ton diesel.

Any ideas would be most appreciated!

A tree and a ***-a-long.

 

The easiest way is to grab some friends and walk it off. if you try to strap it and hoist it off you run the risk of damaging the cab by bending it.
