Fuel Question...Need Answers
Okay guys, I was told today at work that we an underground tank with about 1000 gallons of diesel that need to disappear before we can sell the place. (We are moving to a new location in November)
Apparently the fuel has not been used since last September. Prior to that, they had to repair a water leak issue with the tank. I was told that they pumped the tank dry and refilled with new fuel after the repair.
My question: Do you think the fuel is safe to use? I already figured I would have an extra fuel filter or two handy in the truck in case I have clogging issues. My real concern is that the fuel may do something to my motor and, given my recent turn of events, I certainly can't afford any repair bills right now. Should I have the fuel tested? If so, who would do that type of testing?
The fuel is FREE for me if I want to use it.
What should I do?!?!?!?

Where the hell you gonna store 1000 gal of fuel, would be my first question. In most states your talkin about a lot of red tape just to get a storage facility approved for that much aside from the cost of doin it. I'd say find some farmer that already has a tank set up for ag use and sell it to him at a good price. Then your fuel you buy with that money really will be free, in terms of money and hassle.
