What does it mean when you see gray smoke when taking off?

I don't understand what do you mean, you can use more fuel? I am new to owning a diesel engine. 2006 duramax

yes.. you could use more fuel!.. ... but seriously.. its stock tuned form the factory, and thats fine... its the same concept... just the lag creating the less air while the computer is putting more gas nto the cylinder.. not as much as a tuned diesel.. but it sthe same concept... unless its thick noticeable smoke.. then idk

i have a stock 2001 7.3 and have no noticable smoke of any color. should there be a little when stock tuned?

Maybe... But no smoke isn't a bad thing, you've got the right fuel air combo which is generally a good thing. I think before the turbo spools you should have a little haze though
