Yeah sorry bout the pics but i am good friends with my local insurance agent and we have already talked about buying the truck back....my thoughts are buy it back replace the windshield and glass and use it for my construction company truck and with the rest of the money it would be a nice down payment on a new truck to toy with any suggestions on the easiest or most least expensive Cummins to BOMB

I will also keep you guys posted about the final they want to give me one other question is what is my truck worth i know nada and kbb but the add ons and the extras will i get them back.....i have never had an insurance claim in my life kinda worried

also factor in if it is "totaled" by the insurance company the title will be converted to a salvage title. though there is nothing mechanically wrong with the truck it is cosmetically totaled. find out what inspection processes it will require to get a "clean" title for it. i know here in GA you have to take pictures and take it to the state for a final inspection before the truck can get a reinstated title.......

i would also talk to the insurance guy since he is your friend and find out (once you get a correct total of repairs) how much money it will take to get the truck "totaled" and se if you can take a slightly lesser ammount to keep it from not being totaled..... example.... if it takes $23K of damage to "total" the truck..... hypothetically speaking..... see if the insurance company will cut you a check for $22K and not total it.... this will save them a few thousand having to pay off your truck and all..... then you would could pay down or pay off the truck and have some cash to boot..... you said it would be close to 18K total..... I'd bet for under 10K i could find used parts to put the truck back together.....

Man I thought your post said 3 or 4 inch hail, not 3/4" hail. I was hoping for mass destruction pictures

If it were me, I would put a new hood, windshield and sunroof on it and keep whatever cash you get from the insurance company.

I think you need to find a pdr guy out of the area that is a little more hungry than the others for the box sides-----buy a new aftermarket hood and the roof is a simple fix as it is basically glued in and drive it.Hail claims vary so much by company that if you try and play hardball you might get coverage denied .PDR people vary so much as well, when they used to work independent of the body shops they could do about anything. When they started letting the bodyshops bid it and give them the 35% for using their shop it got crazy and it seemed their skills diminished

Meet with my guy tomorrow and talked to 3 PDR guys already. all three have said it has stretched the paint and cracked it too much to get it without having to touch up paint.Got prices on new hoods(cowl induction, aftermarket), and sunroof and roof skin( sunroof leaks now as well as roof got some damage to headliner easy fix though) and new winsheild and then i think i might stop at that depends on what isurance guy says. i will keep you posted...

Another thing is that all of my business, vehicles, trailers, houses, and building are through my insurance guy so i don't think he wants to lose us i think i got a little bit of room to bargain with

You need a new body man. He is highly incompetent with those prices/parts.

Talked with insurance guy today and we are settling close to around 10 so we will see what i do.we are going to go new fenders, doors, hood, windsheild, roof. Not quite sure i guess if we are going with fenders and doors yet

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Also the reason it was so much is we were going to replace pretty much the whole body and then a couple of other things
