Default Lightened flywheel

Can anybody tell me the effects of a lighter flywheel to a diesel engine(pros and cons)? Is it applicable to diesel engines the way it affects gas engines? I am not after any performance gain but that would be a plus. The transmission cannot accept the bigger flywheel of the diesel engine. I was hoping, I could put the flywheel that came with the transmission.

With all the torque being applied, believe it won't last too long.

I'd have to agree with WildBill on that one.
