Default 2 way radio problems

I'm a firefighter and have a 2 way radio in my truck, and the pyro makes the radio swelch every so often. It's about to drive me nuts! my Radio has no swelch adjustment either.. any body deal with this before?

I used to work at a CB shop some years ago and the owner sold a gizmo that the radio power lead was fed through that reduced and eliminated electronic interference (loud annoying noises)in CB's.We had a lot of repeat customers(OTR truckers)and no complaints that it didn't work.Another solution to noises and feedback was having the external(if you happen to have one)antenna tuned with an SWR meter. Some of the stuff I saw there seemed like snake oil at first but they had a function.I would try to talk to truckers at a stop nearby and see about finding a good CB shop that has a good rep.,some of em aren't that great, and see if they might have a solution.

I agree with Shecom3! I'd also try taking your radio to a local shop that specializes in Motorola, ICOM or Relm radios (or whatever you're using). Even though your radio doesn't have and external **** for squelch adjustment, there are internal adjustments that can help your radio ignore outside signals that'll cause problems like what you're having.
