Letter to EPA from ATS
#41
No offense to any lawyers that may be members here, but you all haven't met many of them. They are ruthless and don't care who they hurt. The letter sounds like a lawyer letter. Obviously it wasn't approved and someone did something bad to put it in the public eye. All it looks like ATS is guilty of is bad procedures on communications or hiring a bad lawyer. You guys are tough.

A guy on my regular forum who just happens to live in the area, took a little trip down to ATS today. Read about it here.....
Well, this isn't cool.....

I am going to play devils advocate for just a second then am going to be off rant.
lets just say that the letter was going to go out. the lawyer drafted it and it was to be placed on ATS letterhead. It was intentionally "leaked" out and ended up on every diesel forum known to man. The word got out like it was intended, then the letter from Clint was released. They were able to serve their purpose and blame it on a "leak" or "hacked" email and the letter was "never" supposed to be released to the EPA. ATS was able to get the word out on a "high flow" DPF system to "pre" release to the public in a crappy way.
ok, off rant. Who knows what will happen. Is PDI going to implement a lawsuit? Maybe. Do they have a leg to stand on if the letter was not sent (or was it actually and we are just seeing the rough draft)?

i just dont understand why he did this. he is going to screw over the entire diesel performace industry by doing and saying what he did. if he keeps talking he is going to end his business too so if he did this just to to make his business better he didnt think this plan through

The more I think about it the more I come the realization that it was not leaked. Who would have known to go look at someones email for a "draft" of a letter from and attorney? How would they have known to look for it if they did not have some sort of reason to believe it was there?
I could care less really about ATS or any of the companies involved as they do not directly effect me. However giving up the information on the letter up could be costly for the people that are running the delete kits and further delay any improvements that may have eventually been approved for on road use.

We all need to take a step back and chill out and turn the Rant button off. Cause even sponsors that are not involved it does look good for sponsors to rant off about other companies. Looks just as bad. So I say we all just keep it civil and relax. Cause complaining about other companies doesn't exactly look too good on your behalf.

Hows he complaining? Whether he has a company or not he's still entitled to have an opinion and its a darn good one at that! Being a diesel head like all of us, he just wants to see progress not for us to regress, just like all of us do.... And this "leaked" document isn't helping us in anyway, lotsa negative light being shined upon the hobby/sport/just trying to make the damn truck get better fuel mileage. Hacked email or not, its shady as hell to be even thinking about pulling such a stunt as in having a lawyer or whatever draft up a letter basically alienating fellow dealers and potential and probably current customers that are possibly using ATS products. Intentional or not company names and dealer invoices and possible CUSTOMER alienation should have never been brought up in this letter of intent....

This is very true my friend but as a potential customer of another company I don't like see other companies bad mouth each other. This is Why I do not buy Banks anymore and their Gorrila Marketing. I would not appreciate the bad mouthing of company It does like good for sponsors to see them talking about it. I think we should all be the bigger person and step away.
