POWERSTROKE BABY haha i got a new 6.4 but my buddy has the new LBZ d-max and tell you the truth i would really rather own the d-max cuz its got more power and torque at lower rpms than the powerstroke and if i could sell my ford for what i have in it then i would buy a duramax..cummins have the best diesel engine as far as compression ratio goes for more power and torque but they do not have the trannys to uphold the engine. So duramax is probably the best choice

Not to burst your bubble but I read somewhere that the super high HP DMAX trucks are using the 48RE (I think that's the latest??) as the Alli just can't do it.

Now, flip that around and talk about manuals and hands down the NV5600 is built proof - built like a tank. The new one, I don't know much about though...

Yep Buck Spruill is using a 48re to chase down Jimmy/Dale Smith as the fastest 4wd pickup.

New truck is bright red...no pics yet
Big Horn Edition??? honestly don't know what that means, maybe someone could enlighten.
New rubber, they put on 285's, love those. She sits high. Need to take it for bedliner, mud flaps and running boards. Thinking about line-xing the rocker panel as well. I thought black might look ok but they are doing paint matches now. Have seen a few and they don't look bad. The rough finish makes them look a little off??
Need to rid of the muffler. Like the quietness of the cab, but that quiet.
It's a 4x4 short box. No mega cab, would have been nice. Will be changing all fluids out this weekend. Future plans for bypass and those new injen intakes.
Took it on a 100mile trip yesterday and at 55-60mph, I got 22.5mpg according to the computer. Very happy with that.

Congrats of the new truck. But how can you drive 100 miles at 55-60? Kick it up to 70 or so and deal with the 17-18 mpg.

if only the overhead was accurate on these.. gotta hand calculate them cuz the computer always says your getting better than what you are. Hmm I wonder what fluids your going to put in it when you put 35's on the truck it helps get the gear ratio back down to what the 2nd gens have

The overhead is off by 2-5mpg (need to hand calculate for accuracy). The '05 has been treating me good. The only emission component on the '05 is the cat. Take it off and get a good free flowing muffler to replace your stocker. The exhuast is a 4" system. So no need to replace unless you want a 5" turbo back exhuast. Save your money on that CAI System. Unless your planning on big hp. Use a good drop in filter if you want to do anything to it. There was a article done on CAI in stock form and mild hp. No gains to reallly speak of and a drop in flowed better than a whole new system.

The Big Horn Edition is just upgrades to the truck. I believe Texas (areas) has the Lonestar Edition and a couple more names out there in different regions.

W/ my suspension and 35" tires. I get 15-17 mpg mix driving (city/back roads/freeway) and get 18-20 mpg freeway (cruise set at 70 mph down I-5).
