i use it but i honestly haven't looked at my egt's while using it. it has to help as it clears some of the smoke.... but does my setup cool the EGT's? that is a good question..... if i had a full or partially full bottle i'd go out right now and try and see what i notice....

I don't think it helps much if you want to drop ETC you need meth injection.

in some instances meth helps but it is the water content that cools the EGT's. in high concentrations methanol (which is a fuel with a lower ignition point than diesel) can cause EGT's to increase. water with a low dose of meth will lower exhaust temps if it atomized correctly. if someone has too much fuel to burn and not enough turbo to supply the air then water meth more than likely isn't for you. meth is a fuel so adding a fuel to the already too much fuel can either put the fire out or can cause EGT's to increase.

nitrous is an oxidizer, it makes fuels burn quicker, but is not flammable. if you have too much fuel and not enough turbo to supply the air needed to burn it, nitrous works rather well as an added oxygen source to help the fuel burn. it also acts as a chemical intercooler IMHO better to cool the intake charge temps better than meth as going from a liquid to a gas nitrous gets much more colder than meth/water will ever get.

Did you just say NO2 wasn't flammable? Heat breaks the relatively weak bond between the Nitrogen and the Oxygen, and Oxygen isn't flammable, its EXPLOSIVE.

NO2 will cool EGT's if your setup allows it. If you have wayyyyy too much fuel, it will probably raise EGT's because now you have even more fuel being burned, creating more heat. But if you have just slightly too much fuel, the added O2 may make enough of a difference to lower EGT's. If you have enough Turbo already and just add NO2, you'll definitely drop your EGT's.

yes i did. Nitrous Oxide itself as a liquid or a gas isn't flammable or explosive.....

Nitrous oxide - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

as you stated when the temperature of nitrous oxide is elevated (in the compression stroke) the bond between the nitrogen and oxygen is broken and THEN it is no longer Nitrous Oxide, it is nitrogen and oxygen, 2 separate gasses.

EDIT: here is a link to an MSDS sheet for Nitrous Oxide. http://www.safety.vanderbilt.edu/pdf...e_G3_06_04.pdf

This is common rail experience....12V may be different.

I see about 100-150 or so degrees reduction. My setup is two good sized stages.
My buddy sees over 200 degrees, but he is hugely over fueled and is making monster HP. Buddy runs 2 500hp solenoids, big lines and no jets (don't need no stinking jets!)!

I used to run 760Hp on a 650hp turbo set....Water meth was like peeing on a house fire....I saw almost 300 degrees by substituting pure water.
