Got this for free from one of my stops today. (God I love being a tool man, I get all sorts of good stuff!) It is a HX40W has the 7 blade compressor wheel, 16cm exhaust housing and the T3 flange. That makes this the Super HX40, right?

Now on to the bad news... This thing ate a compressor wheel... Any good "cheap" sorces for parts? I know now that I need a rebuild kit. Comp Wheel and a shaft. Probably put a new exhaust wheel in it also. The Comp housing looks to be in OK shape... Couple scratchs but nothing drastic.

How about the holes in the inlet for the Intake Air Temp Probe... Make a good spot for some water-meth in the future? I know there are different schools of thought on putting the nozzles befor the turbo. I have not made up my mind yet. Also check out the bolt on section for the exhaust flange. I think this thing came off a Volvo. Here are some Pics.

 

if it needs a kit, a shaft, and a compressor wheel, why not just buy a CHRA for it?

have you called a turbo shop and given them PN and SN?

 

Columbus Diesel Supply can probably get ya what ya need, it probably came out of a little KW with a 8.3 Cummins in it
