Default Making A Hybrid Turbo...

Gonna Hybrid my H1C and H1E together... Gonna call it the H1D

Heres my questions....

1. Do I HAVE to balance the shaft? I know the simple answer is Yes... Here is my reasoning though. unbalanced shafts wear out bearing right? If I put 2000 miles on this truck in the next year I will be blown away. Hell I bought it the end of Feb and have only run 2 and a half tanks of fuel through it. I would check it ALOT for shaft play and drop back and punt if it started to head south. Not really wanting to spend any $$$ on this becasue I do want to step up to a super HX40 at some point and the H1E was free.

2. How do I get the Nuts of the wheels? If you were to just put a wrench on them it would spin. were should I hold the wheels so that it does not spin?

3. I have a 18 and 21 housing for it... Which One? The 18 will spool better put This is not a street truck... Just pulling and draging. Would the 21 let me pick up some boost/air on the top end?

Thanks.

balancing can be a short term problem and some could be a lonterm. that is like those XS Power turbo's on ebay, some will work for years and some won't make it out of the driveway before grenading. it is your choice to balance or not. i'd balance it.

the 21 will help the egt's up top and since the converter isn't a lockup and you spend a bunch of time in the upper rpm band then i'd say the 21.... you should have enough fuel to spool it.....
