Yes, that engine was installed in 1500 GMC, but not in all model years. Mostly found in models from 1999 to 2006, especially with the HD package. It’s important to check the VIN for confirmation. Some years have slight differences.
P.S. Make sure you got the factory ECM, aftermarket mods can mess up identification sometimes. 🙂
