Hey guys, new member here. I'm in search of a new tow rig for my camper. I currently pull it with a 2009 Silverado 1500. The truck just doesn't have what it takes to do it safely in my opinion. It's a 30' Springdale bunkhouse setup. The sticker shows a dry weight of 4600. But I'm not sure I believe that. Anywho I've got a budget of around 5k so I'm aware my options are limited. My sister in law has a 24 valve she said she would sell me for 4K. The specs are it's a 2000 model ram 2500 24 valve 5 speed 2wd. It's got 320k on it. She says it needs a starter and 2 batteries so I haven't heard it run and they got it on trade. With that being said I've got no history on it. Thoughts? Opinions? I'm not stuck on a Cummins I just need something to get it done safely. Sorry for the long post but I figured I'd be as thorough as I could. Thanks guys
