2013 King Ranch Ford F-350 Turbo Swap - Feed The Beast!
Horsepower junkies at Maryland Performance Diesel ditched the restrictive factory turbo on their 2013 King Ranch Ford F-350 in favor of a fixed-geometry, 63mm S300 intended for a 5.9L common-rail Cummins. Each time a new diesel engine debuts, it brings with it the latest technological advancements available, which -- in the aftermarket -- means greater horsepower potential than the engine it replaced. Needless to say, Ford fans had high hopes for the new 6.7L Power Stroke when it was unveiled back in 2010. Unfortunately, once the first tuning options were released, news surfaced that the Bosch CP4.2 couldn’t supply enough fuel volume for 500 hp, and the factory single-sequential turbo was out of fuel well before 3,000 rpm. Down on power was an understatement when compared to how the 6.7L’s predecessor (the 6.4L) performed with a simple programming change.
