I want to keep my chevy, it's just too nice to let it go. (The one I bought a couple days before Christmas with a dead 6.5, it's a '94 3500 crew cab 4x4)
Been doing some research on it. Looks like the 6.5 isn't what I want, and neither is the 4L80E transmission. So I've just about decided on a cummins and either an allison 1000 or NV4500. Preferably allison so I wouldn't have to install clutch. So we'll see; maybe we can get started in a few weeks. We have to get on the road with our F350 to get the dough squeezin. That should start happening within 2 weeks at least. Gotta have it where it will tow 20,000 lb trailer cross country without problems for a few months. Soon as we can get a semi going we'll back off on the heavy hauling and use it for lighter work. Like taking my horses and me to trail rides around the country.
