i have a smarty S03 on my truck, really woke it up and has tire height adjustment for your speedo, and also reads codes

also Edge comp box is a good box for more power.

the most horsepower you can get out of a programmer on these is 65 HP unless you tap into the injection pump. the smarty doesn't tap into it, the edge comp does.

welcome to diesel bombers. post some pics of your truck and fill out your signature to let others know exactly what is done to your truck, and what transmission you have in it, etc.

The cheapest and most effective way to gain some MPG's and HP IMO would be the Edge EZ. If you want more than 65hp over stock you will need an Edge J/A or Comp. Smarty is really nice but pricey too.

I enjoy them both. Although i have stacks on the stock truck, and a programmer on the other one

Or get both! But yea your end goal determines which programmer you should buy. Only reason i bought the smarty is for the MPG tune.. Shouldve bought the edge EZ for half the price though :banghead:

If your shooting for more hp, youll want a wiretap box like the edge comp/edge j/a or quadzilla. Although personally i would stay away from quadzilla

DEFINITELY get a good aftermarket lift pump, as well as a fuel pressure gauge at the bare minimum before adding a programmer. the factory lift pump isnt even enough in stock form. once you start fueling harder its just a matter of time. i have an airdog 150 gph on mine, other people run fass as well. i would just get the triple gauge a piller mount with a boost gauge, fuel pressure gauge, and EGT (pyrometer) gauge

an aftermarket lift pump is about 1/2 or 1/3 of what it will cost when your injection pump fails due to low fuel pressure
