ok ill check it out. is there any way to tell using a vin number? are all 2001 cummins 53 blocks? i know my luck and i dont think im willing to test it with 14 g's!

yea my 6.0 gets about 17 mpg currently. runs and drives like a champ too. but its just because it practically has a brand new engine in it

I dont see one, but I know some guages just start blinkin as a warning light but if your like me you check you guages like you check your speed, plus I have good wide vison so its not hard for me to tell somethings low. The vin wont tell you what block it has, but not all 01 are 53 blocks, and i all honesty it may be hard to find one without a 53 block. People where saying if you made it past 75K without the block breaking your in the clear. But I have westach usa guages and they seem to stick out unlike ISSPRO so I dont need warning lights.

 

Oh also I think you need a set of 3rd gen rims

heres the pic. is the tan speaker on the gauge column a warning sensor of some sort?

im just worried about dropping 14k on a 11 year old truck if it has a chance of the block cracking.

 

No thats a Tweeter for your audio My truck has em to, just didnt get the pillar pod with the spot for it. I think the truck is worth it, yes the 53 block is a concern, but dont make it such that you cant get that truck. the cracking issues was made well aware off before 2001, and adjustments were made to how they casted the blocks, but since they just stock piled the engines you can have any from when they were produced.

I think it is. Especially a 5 speed maybe frutos get him down a little seeing as how u have to drive an hour one way.

Id put it between 12 and 14K, I had a friend with 112K buy his for 13 thousand, see how far he will go down... DO you know for sure it has a 53 Block....

and im not 100% sure it does or not. ill have to crawl around underneath it and try to figure out.. i texted him and asked, but he hasnt texted back yet. he probably doesnt know if it does or not

 

Still its a standard everyone wants a standard cummins, its not difficult look right underneath the injection pump on drivers side of motor in the front it will say 53 if it is. I have 196k on a 53 block, I let it warm up before I get on it and always cool down bedded shut off.
