How To Wire A Relay
I always have a problem trying to remember how to wire up a relay, So after searching the web for the 398574097236 time I came across this. Its the best digram I have seen yet!
Relay Wiring Diagram
A relay is typically used to control a component that draws high amperage. The relay allows full power to the component without needing a switch that can carry the amps. The switch only controls the relay. The relay then provides a direct connection to the battery. It should be noted that either the power(86) or ground(85) in the relay control circuit can be switched. In the case of a horn, the horn button would be used to switch the ground lead(85) and power(86) would be provided directly from the fuse box.
This is a typical wiring diagram for a standard relay installed for headlights, horn, fuel pump, electric fan, etc. If the relay has a 5th terminal, it is not used.

That does help. But you should remember the 87a contact is energized when the coil is off(switch is off). Comes in handy depending on how your wiring things.

That one is on you Begle.
this was more or less so that I could find it next time I need to wire a relay.
I do it every time, sit there staring at the relay and eventually say f-it and go search on the net for how to wire it... Every time! You would think by now I would have it memorized.

I got lots of 6 pin relays.
I might even got some 8 pin relays around.
And lets not forget solid state relays.

If there's really demand, I could make some diagrams...
