Timbren Suspension Enhancement System Install W/ Pics
Well my Timbren's came yesterday so I figured I would take some time today to install them, figured while I was doing it might as well take some pictures!
These things really are stupid simple to install and if you can;t figure it out you probably should not leave your house alone.
Here they are... All packed up...
the directions say to jack up the truck and let the axle hang. If you are using the spacers and the Timbren's will be set up in the "Heavy Duty" configuration then this is needed because they always are in contact with the axle. I left the spacers out so there is about 1" gap before they touch so I did it all with th etruck at ride height and the wheels on.
First unbolt the stock bump-stops
Just two 15mm bolts
The directions also tell you to put the mount on the truck then attach the spring to the mount, I decided to pre-assemble the whole works because with out jacking the truck up there is not enough room between the axle and the spring for a ratchet. Here is the new Timbren spring bolted to the included mount. they have stickers telling you what side of the truck and which way is front.
Next simply bolt up the whole set-up. Make sure the spring is centered over the axle and tighten the whole thing up.... That simple took about 20 min for both sides!

Very cool. Glad you didn't use the spacer because it would make the truck ride like crap. We had them on a 3500HD Gm in the front because of the snow plow and man did it make it horrible to drive. I didnt think it could ride much worst but after putting those in man was I wrong. They do help out a great deal though.

I want a set a air bags but and I keep lookin at em in my dealer catalogs but I'm to stupid to figure out all the parts and pieces you need to make the whole system to figure out a cost.
Just looked at a set of these Suspension Enhancements as they are called in the catalogs that you installed. Then ain't no little cheap deals you got there Bud, I hope they work out well for ya.

They make a big difference in how it sets when it is loaded, but they didn't affect my ride at all. I have had them for about 9 years, really like them. I just hope you got the heavy duty set, because the light duty set for 1/2 tons will split eventually if you load them heavy.
