Default ATS is a bad company

1997 f250 psd ext cab lng bed veg powered
issue: 2nd blown ats tranny not being covered

well i am now on my second ATS tranny with less than 5000 miles on both that went. the first incedent, the tranny was swnd back to them and after their assesment they said the gears broke due to transmission abuse or abusive driving. i thought i bought this tranny to withstand my abuse am i wrong? so anyways they gave me a new tranny. 5000 miles later it went again. i lost first gear and was getting a hard jump in third gear and it would shift and bang gears really hard. it also would jump into false neutral going from 3rd to 4th. so anyways it stopped moving so we sent the truck to mass diesel (doing a great job helping us) they shipped the tranny back to ATS and now they are saying its broken due to abuse again and they cant cover it on warranty for various reasons. in my opinion, i paid $6300 for a "built" transmission and that should last longer than 5000 miles in a 1997 psd with a chip and an intake. my stock transmission lasted longer than both of these built ats trannies combined! if anyone has a similar story or some advice on how to deal with these people i would appreciate it. stay away from ATS products. Their warranty is nothing once you read the fine print and their products are a joke. thanks a lot

this is your first and only warning. Don't spam our board with multiple threads stating the exact same thing. we allow you to voice your opinion about a company and any issues you have with them. please don't take advantage of this.

i have merged all 3 of your threads. any more post about this subject in other threads will be put in this single thread.

thanks and enjoy Diesel Bombers.

Sounds like typical ATS buisness... Clint (owner) is a piece of chit, and puts more time and effort into writing a warranty card then he does building a tranny.

They are junk. Completely over priced, and the company will never stand behind them.

Look for a BTS or a John Woods tranny.

I agree 100% with CSIPSD

NEVER once heard a good thing about ATS' warranty claims. They sucker guys into buying their stuff with their ridiculously long warranty, then when it breaks they blame it on you. You're exactly right, you pay $6300 for a BUILT tranny, it should work man!

BTS or John Woods trannies all the way. Heard nothing but good from either. BTS probably has one of the best reps for 7.3 trannies. Brian will actually pull it apart and show you what failed and explain how his parts fix it and shows you the parts going in... then tells you to go beat on it!

Where are you from Veggiepower?

i'm almost 700hp on a ATS trans with no problems

one would think that you break the same hard parts twice, its not the builder

no trans company's out there will warranty hard parts ie shafts

thats why they sell billet shafts, stronger but not warrantable

You could not be further from the truth.

You break a BTS within the warranty period, it will be fixed. Period.

You break a BTS out of warranty and it will be fixed. Period. You will be paying for shipping and possably for upgrades.

You ever met Clint? Or his lovely wife...

I would not **** on eather of them if they were on fire.
