Anyone have advice? I have a 05 e350 ps. Went in the ditch in a snowstorm and knocked off oil filter housing. It stalled but started back up a couple times like it ran out of fuel before I noticed the oil trail. It was a real soft trip, and the only visible damage is the oil filter housing. The thing is fixed, full off oil and wont start. Do I have to reset the pressure switch?...or....

ANYBODY???? I have to work tomorow? I've cranked and cranked to raise oil pressure. Fuel pump is working fine. No visible damage anywhere!

just crank for 10 to 15 seconds at a time, you lost the oil out of the hi pressure oil pump, just got to get the air out of it, these things can't be run without oil which is good, having the oilfilter down low on a van makes it a little different than the trucks, you have those long lines that go all the way to the back of the engine so it might take a little longer to get the oil resovor filled back up

that code is probably because of the hi pres oil being low, just crank wait a min then crank again, saves the batteries that way

Just thinking here, if you hit kinda hard there is a fuel shut off switch just in case you get in an accident, generally there is a reset button, most times there behind one of the kick panels, most times they are on the passenger side right next to where the passengers feet would be.. can you hear the fuel pump running when you turn the key on?

You might want to try repriming your high pressure oil pump (HPOP) right behind the fan you'll see a cast aluminum tank on the top of the motor, it has toward the right on top a hex plug, remove the plug and fill that resevoir, put the plug back and crank it a few times, remove the plug and cap it off again, repeat until it stops going down but by then it probably will fire up if the inertia or fuel cutoff switch hasn't been kicked, but you did say it fired once which leads me to believe that's good, unless you shot it with diesel or ether or something.

I totally agree that your oil system drained down and now it won't pump up the injectors, have to prime the HPOP or it'll never prime on its own, at least not before you throw the starter.

Good morning guys...Bob...Landed softly, and the fuel pump works. Did start by itself with no ether diesel etc.
Nydiver..sounds like a good stratagy as it will not fire again after tons of cranking. No diesel smell either coming out of exhaust.

ok that cast alum tank must be for a truck. This is a van and I cant find it to save my life. I have the air tubes out, see the egr, the intake, all realativly clearly, but nothing like you describe. Took out an allen plug on top of hpop but wont take any oil. got it spinning for about 60 sec on ether/diesel mix. wouldnt that prime hpop?

This is true for the 7.3 but if he has an 05 it should be the 6.0 right? not sure with the vans, is that cap on top of the oil cooler?
