ford owns cummins?
ive herd rumors and looked online and people say that ford owns Cummins trade mark. but they allow dodge to put them in their trucks or that ford owns a share of Cummins im not sure has anyone else herd this?

did a little more research... from what ive seen is back in the day when GM and ford and Chrysler were buying up companies ford bought some shares of cummins to keep the company from going bankrupt.. anyone know or heard of ford still owning cummins ?

Ford does not own Cummins, they bought some shares, they sold them back, they have nothing to do with each other. this has been beat to death by Ford owners of past

Cummins is a Public company. Ford owned a few shares at one point in time but no longer does. And that's all they did own were shares, they had nothing to do with the decision making aspect of the company.

what they do have is cummings, you know, every other noob comes in and talks about it, well thats what they got, a chinlee knock off made of chinesium, sold by unscrupulous dealers looking to pull a fast one.

yep heard it since i was real young! everyone saying "dodge's contract with cummins is up and ford wont renew it" if that were true ford would have canceled the contract before it was up regardless of how much the penelties were, would have made the powerstroke sales skyrocket!

it depends on how you define own...as of right now i dont think ford owns cummins but there for a while ford owned a MAJORITY share of cummins. to me if u own 1 share of a stock ur kind of an owner. if u own enough to sit on the board then you OWN that company. no ur not the only owner but id still say u own it
