Default ford 6.7 or cummins 6.7 lookin for help

i'm in the market for a new truck and i like to build power with my trucks i was told only do air filter and ext. nothing more the new ford trucks cant handle it yet or nobody has figured out a safe tune for them yet and this was all in the past week when i was lookin at ford i still haven't ruled it out yet but the cummins is looking pretty good and reliability is no issue with the cummins. but i would like to know stock mileage and where i can find urea cause the extra urea fuel cost could be a big factor in my choice. xince dodge is the only diesel u dont need urea.

not tryin to start a fight just looking for numbers and opinions

urea is being carried at most stations that carry diesel fuel, not sure on cost, I wanna say i saw it for $20 for 2.5 gallons, stock mileage on a cummins is less than a psd, do your egr/dpf deletes and a good tuner and the cummins is up there if not better than the ford, and H&S makes a tuner and egr deletes for the 6.7 PSD too, with up to 150hp tunes, there couldn't be to terrible much testing been done on it though, it's pretty new, not saying i wouldn't trust it, but i'd be a bit more hesitant

My stock 2010 dodge dually got a averange of 14.5 before doing deletes. Averages about 17 after.

I looked at a new ford, dam nice truck but I don't like siting on the side of the road and sitting at a dealer with my truck getting worked on. Not saying that this is going to be the case with there new truck. But after having 1 ford truck lemmoned and then owning a 6.0 disapointment. And sitting on the side of the road in my friends 08 6.4 at -25 I have a good reason to be pestamistic about Fords new motor.

im remodeling a house for a salesmen at John Deere in Othello Wa. hes had 3 PSD, an 05 6.0, 09 6.4, and his new one is the 11 6.7. out of the three he says the 6.7 is the best. keep in mind when this guy got the truck he loaded up a tractor and took it to North Dakota just to see how good it is. he does stuff like this with his trucks all the time, hes had 3
trucks in 5 years because of the miles he puts on and most of them are towing tractors to buyers. his one complaint is the transmission. he said it likes to look the wheels up or some thing, ill ask him tomorrow, but he also owns an 05 duramax with an Allison thats his personal rig, so i can see why he wouldnt like it. he says hes getting 17-19 MPG. he loves the power and everything about it. my best friends dad just bought a new work truck. he got a 2011 dodge 2500 cummins, black leather interior, nav, heated everything. he loves the truck to death, but hates his 11 MPG average. he drives roughly 150 miles every day and tows alot, mostly a gooseneck with bobcat on it. both these guys work trucks to death and each one swears by the truck they currently have

Going with stock trucks, Diesel Power Magazine did a shootout and the GMC and Ford beat the Ram considerably. Fuel mileage, 1/4mi (with and w/o trailers), braking tests, and 8mi uphill road course. Unfortunately, the GMC won with the Ford in a close 2nd. The Ram (even with the new and improved *800ft/lbs* motor) couldn't compete.

In conclusion, Ford all the way.
