Ok just had that happen to my 6.0 stroke today, Chasing it down to egr cooler or head gasket both are known to happen with 6liter anyone know how to tell which one it is without tearing it apart ??

Black smoke is not EGR cooler or headgaskets, that would be white. Black is too much fuel, on a 6.0 it is most likely sticking turbo.
