Default Painting Turbo

Anybody ever sand smooth and paint the cool side of there turbo? Just thinking out loud.

Wonder if you would need high heat paint or regular?

It would probably be a good idea, based on your turbo location... Wouldnt wanna paint it then have it peeling and have to pull the sucker again just to re-sand then paint it again...

That would kind of deter me (location on your truck) unless the rest of your engine compartment is already dressed up nicely and the turbo is last thing to need it... Just thinkin out loud back at ya bud

i would use high heat just to be on the safe side.

The Only Problem I See With The Powder Coat Is That It Would Not Allow It To Dissipate The Heat.

Nathan Wright at Maximized Performance Inc paints his to the color of request. Not sure what he's using but I know of two kits that I've seen that have been on trucks for two years without any wear or fading.

i was going to paint the cold side on the charger of my dodge but never got around to it, my valve covers, and all the red lettering on the engine and fender badges are now Cobalt blue.....looks sweet......i would do it just be sure to use hi-temp paint just in case......
