black smoke= high egts and poor fuel consumption, smoke is the by product of supplying enough fuel (or too much fuel) to make additional power, the 6.0l has a few problems that should be addressed before worrying about making smoke like the egr valve and head studs. think about that stuff first then make better hp and tq with fuel and air upgrades soot will follow.
or you could cover your air filter up with a towel and cut off all air supply so all you have is fuel to burn. not recommended

If you insist on having the ability to smoke then go about it the right way with a custom tuned SCT from Innovative, Elite, or Gearhead, but try not to go around smoking every time you leave a stop sign. Thats just irresponsible.

I've actually heard of someone collapsing an air filter ACTUALLY USING THE BAG APPROACH!!!! What a moron!!!
It's bad enough to see someone wanting to know how to do a smoke switch, but it is even worse when you see that person only has like four posts on the website... I know I don't have a ton of posts on here, but thats cause I spend most of my time on other sites with more Ford guys.
People asking, "How do I make my truck smoke" RARELY gets any respect whatsoever.

He's right, you don't need smoke. It may seem awesome with your buddys, but it ain't. I like to blow smoke on people too, especially in their window. I know what you mean. You are better making smoke with true power. Smoke switches are hard on the motor anyway. Your turbo will not last with a smoke switch. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Ok SMOKE DOESN'T EQUAL POWER. Did you know that in CA we now have to smog diesels because of people going around and bringing attention to themselves by smoking out intersections and such which by the way is dangerous. Smoking excessively is a Dodge thing and who wants go get grouped up with them.
