Default OEM blowoff valve and electronically controlled wastegate?

Did any Ford Diesel, older Ford Diesel's in particular, have a blowoff valve or electronically controlled wastegate from the factory?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

The answer would be "no", right?

IIRC no is the answer. i believe that dodge had an actual electronically controlled wastegate and the powerstrokes had the VGT or VNT that was electronically controlled, so not really a wastegate...... and i've never seen on a diesel a factory BOV.... gassers yes diesel no....

The wastegate on the 7.3 is electronically controlled but boost actuate. A electric signal opens a small orifice to bleed pressure to a canister that then opens the wastegate.

So the awnser is yes.

If you're referring to the OBS, the answer is no. The same goes for the newer 7.3 vans. Just don't confuse the EBPV for a wastegate. It's that oil operated valve on the back of the exhaust housing. That just helps the engine warm up in cold weather.
