Default Anybody done it

My names Zac an im from CO, my 16 year old cousin just roled his 97 powerstroke. We have a 76 ford f250 tho thats just sittin there with a blown motor in it. i told him we should just build one for that truck an he should drive it since thats wut my familys done since the late 60's, build motors. but he's been a diesel lover forever and really wants to keep the motor and tranny and put it in our 76. from wut i can c its gona take alot of firewall fab and wirings gonna b a pain, but i just wanna know wut kinda problems i can expect to run into. im not very familiar with diesels, especially the wiring aspect

Never done anything that new to that old but I did a 460 swap out of an 97 F250 into my 89 F350 Bronco - kind of a pain in the with the wring but it was a fun project since it wasn't my only set of wheels - very much a learning experience - I would say Go For It! Would be pretty sweet!

or ya could take the 76 body off the frame and drop it on the 97 frame if the frame is okay - then viola!

just make sure to keep the computer for the psd and then it shoudl all be fairly straight forward as swaps go as I've been told..

Yeah there was a guy that did that with a 78 I believe it was switched the cab and box kept the computer and all that and then you have to change the mechanical parts like brake booster and all that over. If there is any wiring that needs to be done for the lights and all that Painless probably has the harnesses or can make them
