its got an inline pump just like a p-pump but obviously a 8 cylinder one, my friend told me what they use but i cant remember what he said. all i know is they are some bad engines and they have ALOT of $$$$ in them. they change all the HEUI crap out to make the mechanical stuff work.

Cool so could you make one street legal ish and build one to drive around in??? I have always wanted a 7.3 but i could never justify myself to buy one and get rid of my Cummins because it was so much easier to make the Cummins fast. I bet its just as easy to make a 7.3 fast you just have to know what to do.

There was a feature article recently (I think it was in Diesel World) on Double Overtime. It runs a similar setup. I think the pump came off a CAT. They said the truck makes "well north of 1500 horsepower". It also said that there was almost as much money in the heads to get it all to work, as there was in the rest of the engine.

I'm don't think the engine in Double Overtime is a 7.3 it is another V8. You can't tell me 7.3 can't go fast I saw one for sure running 10s last year at the diesel nationals.
