7.3s are great, you just got to have a unlimited budget.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the engine in Double Overtime started out as a 7.3. I'll have to look at the article again. I have the magazine in my toolbox at work. I looked at the article last night, and the injection pump they are using is a Scheid built "V pump" as they called it. It's P-type pump that came off of a 700 cubic inch International.
The 7.3 you saw running 10s was more than likely Zane Koch from Wide Open. If I remember right, he ran a 10.86 and was the first 7.3 in the 10s.

Stroked Out and Double Overtime are both running 7.3 liter ford powerstroke blocks.........they are using "big truck" mechanical pumps with custom built front drive systems..........Double Overtime uses a custom one piece main and block girdle that ties into the cylinder heads.........the cylinder heads are also highly modified factory 7.3 powerstroke heads..........they dont use a billet block like some of the cummins powered open class trucks do.........the motor was built by TFS in Indiana........
