Rumor Alert?

havent been people been sayin this since the beginning of time, Ford does not own Cummins and neither does Dodge and i dont think they broke their contract it would of been all over the mags and news. so i would say this just another ford cummins rumor.
The CAT thing would be cool for the power, but the parts and service on a CAT would be ridiculous if you broke something.

CAT's on highway is dead.....
its the same bullshit you've been hearing for years........toyota is getting cat, ford is getting cummins, dodge will get a mercedes.......the only thing getting changed up is that ford is thinking about actually building their own diesel instead of using Navistar.....

I'm with him, I've been hearin this for years. I've ALWAYS been a Ford guy but when I bought my first oilburner, it was a Dodge because of the Cummins. There were even rumors of a Cat goin into Chevy trucks just prior to the introduction of the Duramax. Supposedly Cat wanted an emblem on the door like you have with Dodge but they wouldn't go along with it and that's why Cat pulled out. But you hear rumors like this all the time. I'd trade my truck tomorrow and get a second job if they started salein Ford truck with Cummins, or even if for came out with an inline six diesel like that Hino that Toyota's concept has got in it. I just don't understand why Chevy and Ford can't grasp the concept that the inline six diesel make more power, are more fuel efficient, and have so much more longevity.

CAT is getting out of the on high way motors because of the new 2010 epa rules for diesel and there nox output. Cat is eliminating these engines due to the fact the profit is not worth the investment to meet the new standards. So CAT will never be in a yota. Ford did own some Cummins stock years ago but hold no share now. They( Ford) are going to be building there own motors from everything I have read.
