late 6.0 vs EARLY 6.7
If you guys were buying a powerstoke would you go with a late 6.0 (2006) or an early 6.7 (2011). I've been seeing some of the very early 6.7's with around 100k-120k miles going for a decent price, around 25 grand. I've read about some problems with the early 6.7's.
We all know the rep the 6.0 has but a lot of people tie the problems to the earlier models. The one I found is 17 grand with 90k miles on it and has already had head studs done. If I look at it again I'll check for egr delete and what try to ask some more questions on here or other forums.
Which trucks do you guys think are better as far as reliability and longevity being that it is already a used truck? I know maintanence is key and I take care of my equipment but I don't know the previous owners of these trucks.

No Pro
justintyme, as an owner of both engines, I definitely love the 6.7L. Granted, the 6.0 that I had was a '04 and not a '06 but never really had any problems with it either (until that day!!). I purchased the '04 F-350 DRW with the 6.0 with right at 30,000 miles on it, and had owned it for several years. I was pulling a 10T dual tandem gooseneck one day while hauling a 95HP tractor with a 15' batwing cutter. Had traveled approximately 30-40 miles when heard a LOUD boom from under the hood and immediately loss all power. When I say all power, I mean if I put my foot to the floor board, the truck would only get up to about 15-20 MPH. Come to find out, I had lost the turbo, charging tube from the turbo (busted into about 10 pieces), four (4) injectors, and several other imperative parts. In total it was going over $6,000.00 of repairs. At the time that this happened, I only had right at 100,000 miles on the truck. After repairs, I immediately took the truck to another dealer 30 miles down the road and traded it for a '12 F-250 SRW with the 6.7L. As of right now, I have approximately 90,000 miles on the truck and, other than the radiator having to be replaced at 40,000 miles, have never had a problem and the truck which as a bonus has A TON more power and pulling capability (even with the 6.0 having a programmer, cold air kit, 5" exhaust, and several other mods and the 6.7 being stock). Sorry got so long winded, but from my experience, I will never own another 6.0!!!
