Default Afraid to take the plunge

Hi all. I have a bit of a dilemma. I have been looking at two 05 excursions 1st one is a limited full load 73k miles with a 6 inch bds lift ,mostly stock only work done to it is air filter and exhaust.2nd one is limited as well but has arp head studs, egr delete, tuner and cold air intake. But 150 k miles. I have a family trip coming up ,3000m round trip and iam concerned about reliability .Should I walk away or take the plunge ?
Thank you

I wouldn't hesitate to take a trip in either but the one that deleted and studded should be the more reliable of the two. How long ago was the work done to it? You can also get both of the vin numbers and head to the ford dealer and ask them very kindly if they would run an oasis report on both of them to see the history of the work done on them.

Thank you for the reply. The one with the studs and delete had em done at the 75k mile mark. I plan on trying the vin search for the two for sure.i cant imagine one could do the head studs with the cab on right ?

Wow thanks for that. So anyone that has studs done on an excursion went through a lot of trouble.

not really.
pulling thecab/body on a truck is actually not that bad. I've been involved in doing it a couple of times, and seen it done in less than 2 hours on a late model 7.3L.

it's just a plain requirement these days with engine bays getting fuller, cabs getting bigger, and engines gettin larger as well. gotta sneak 8" of mill in under the firewall.
