Default boost gauge hook up

I tapped into the map sensor to intake line and I would get to 28lbs boost, I would run out of rpm before boost. I do have the waste gate line with a hole in it. I moved the boost gauge line to a hole I drilled and tapped in the intake and now I only get 22lbs of boost before I hit top rpm. any thought why?? I am going to hook up a 2nd boost gauge in the same place as the first to see what happens.

I also did open my ebpv and tube, they were blocked. and opened the fuel restriction in the filter and heads. it spools up from 1500-3500 much much faster but I can tell at around 2800-3000 the boost stops

22 psi is more accurate. that's the max the PCM will alow before it defuels.

yes, I have read that 22 psi is the max, but I never ran out of boost before I moved it. could the boost gauge line tapped into the map line been faking out the map to see less boost then there really was?? that is why I am going to hook the 2nd one up. just wanted to know if anyone had this happen.

take a picture of the two places you are getting your boost readings from...

Is your truck stock?

Its the same location... So if you saw a differance you had a leak before or after.

I would be really suspect of 28psi on a stock truck.

Do you have a chip or other power adder?

yes, hypertech power programmer 3, stock down pipe but 4" from that out in front of back wheels, BD air system, pin hole in the waste gate line.
I just hooked up a 2nd boost gauge and see 24 psi in the map hose and 22 psi in the spider pipe. I think you are right I must have had a leak and it was faking out the map sensor. maybe if I can do it again I will not have to spend $50 for the kit.....????
I am going to try more things to see.. thanks!!
