Are taller back tires a possibility? Maybe bring the rpm range down a bit while not slowing you down as much? Granted, it'll take a lot of fuel to pay for tires, but if you're about due it might be worth looking into. I'm assuming it's 2wd, nothing in the sig told me otherwise, but I may just be ignorant. I'm willing to admit that

No it's a 4WD, My tires are in good shape right now but you'd have to get some big **** tires to make a difference. I'm running 265/ 75- R16. Ranchhandtcr, You're a good guesser! That's where I drive the most, I could take US 40 but I think running 65 on gravel would create more drag. It's not maintained very well.

yeah anything over 70 mine tanks hard in mpg im getting 18mpg on a very good day anything over 2000 rpm will start losing mpg drive like you have a egg under the petal and im usually behind a semi not tail gating but it helps gota love the CB radio the semi helps a bit to break the air
plus they usually know where the cops sit so we can blow by everyone

I try drafting them. But I find the drivers who get mad when you do.

When I take I 40 from gallup to hoolbrooke Ill slip in with the semis so I can avoid pissed of drivers who want to do 80 while me and the trucker do 65, I dont mind sitting at 65 at 1900 RPM and getting 22 MPG and taking an extra 15 minutes to get somewhere.. and CDOT doesnt care about doing a good job on grading roads and swear when they do the roads out here they get worse than before then we wear the road down starts smoothing out then the regrade it...

There's a difference between drafting and tailgating. As long as you maintain an adequate following distance, at least 3 to 4 seconds, most drivers shouldn't mind if you draft them.

Well, yeah, some might not like anything you do. If you live in fear of annoying irrational people, you probably ought to stay home.

Sometimes people draft me, sometimes people outright tailgate me, I just keep cruising. If they rearend me, hopefully no one will be injured and the law will be on my side. Can't control other's actions and reactions, just try to be safe yourself. That can include drafting as long as you leave adequate distance. Besides, you'll insulate them from the a-holes that really want to tailgate them.
