Default pouring white smoke from exhaust. please help

My truck started running rough and blowing a little white smoke, it even turned off driving down the road once. So I took it in and was told I had 3 bad injectors. So i ended up parking it for to months, until I could get to it. Well started it up today and it was pouring white smoke, and hickuping when steping on gas. But when I put the chip in extreme HP tune, the smoke goes awayfor the most part and sounds fine. Do I have a bad motor or would this be becouse of the injectors? Motor has 260k. Please help thanku

White smoke sounds like raw diesel fuel. More then likely cut injector O rings, Broken nozzles or something like that. The more you drive it, the more damage you ARE doing to the motor.

Stop driving it and fix it.

Don’t forget to change your oil, prolly got some dilution from all the extra fuel.

I have not drove the truck, but I have started it a couple times after I parked it. I guess that means I shouldn’t even start it till I get the injectors replaced? I just didn’t want to buy injectors for a bad motor. Thanks for the advice greatly appreciated

It may not be injectors... Could be cups, could be O rings, could even be bad compression. Its time to start checking things.

Could bad compresion cause it to die driving down the road. How would I know it has bad compresion? It smokes from the oil cap and right were the air filter goes in. But its done that for a long time even when it drove great.

It would have to be VERY bad to do that. I drove my truck home with no compression on one hole and other then shaking it ran fine.

Oil vapor out the CCV is normal. It should not pump out, just steady.

The thing is I know the injectors are bad becouse the shop tested them. It was just starting it up and it smoking like that just had me stumped. It's wired that it ran like crap and poured white smoke on all the other settings except my 140hp tune.

How did the shop test them to tell you they were bad?

Shops love to tell you an injector is bad when they run a contribution test and it fails... Or a Buzz test and it fails...

Funny when they do that and tell you you have bad injectors, when the bill comes there is almost always a line item for a UVC harness... Hummmmmm

Im not sure how he tested them I did not ask, its a good shop they do a lot of work on my dads equipment. Even if it was the harness injectors never been done with 260k. Bad compresion is my fear with it. How do i check that?
