power steering leak power brakes lost
Can anyone answer me why the power brakes would also be lost when apparently I was loosing power steering fluid. Power steering fluid has sprayed all over the driver side tire and all underneath the frame. I also lost my brakes. Haven't looked for or found the leak but my guess is it is a power steering line that wore thru on the frame. I'll be getting up close and personel with it in the A.M.. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Ahh and that makes sense now that I'm looking at the entire system.

Got it fixed, decided to post pictures of the new line for anyone else looking. Got it from Napa looks quality but only time will tell.

Thanks for the post
I think I have the same problem. Losing power steering fluid. I wondered why it affected the brakes. Now I know!

Is there a compelling reason to replace the whole line, rather than just the o-ring?

BTW, just wanted to be sure that Bartman569 was speaking about the "o"ring that is factory pressed on between the adjustment nut and the pressure nipple. Not reffering to the "crush washer" that is shown in the piture by kooper. That white looking "o"ring is actually called a "crush washer". Designed to craus and make a seal once you tighten down on the adjustment nut! My black "o"ring, shown in my picture on the original post, was the failure issure. Had to do a complete hose. I looked at Ford's hose assembly and also looked at Discount Auto. DA was considerable cheaper and probably made by the same company in Mexico as Kooper's. I only paid $26.99 for the complete line. Never had a problem since!
