Default hub assembly

hey yall i was pulling a truck out of the mud this morning and heard a loud pop coming from the front end. i checked the driveshafts and they were good so i am thinking that it has to be a hub assembly (was in 4wheel low).

assuming that is the case this will be the 3rd one ive gone through in a little over a year so i was wondering if there is an aftermarket part to solve this issue or if i am doing something wrong to keep breaking em. i have warn manual locking hubs and i locked them in then rolled forward ~25ft then backed up to the strap. any help on this would be awesome cause im sick of replacing these expensive little (insert bad word)

thanks

jeremy

so your looking to replace the aftermarket Warn hubs?

I know Superwinch makes a good INEXPENSIVE set, although I'm not sure where to get them. Local 4x4 or offroad shop?

Have you made sure the front diff. is ok?

im not replacing with warn hubs they are actually already on the truck that was just some background so that yall know what i did so that yall could tell me if i was doing something wrong.

i didnt have time to check the diff bc about 5 min after i heard the pop i had to go to school. i called my local shop and am scheduled to get it on a lift first thing wed. morning.

ok i gotcha.

well even if you can just jack up the front end so that both front tires are off the ground, lock in the front hubs and turn the front driveshaft going to the diff. if both wheels turn the same direction your hubs are probably fine. if you hear a popping noise from the diff, then you most likely hurt your pinion/ring gear.

even take out the hubs and look at those for damage. just trying to save you some money!

did what u said and the axle shafts spun but the tires didnt. and the tires are tight (no left right slop) so im thinking its the locking hubs that are bad now

you spun the axles and tires a couple revolutions before putting it back down right?

and obviously they were locked in right? (I'm not trying to be insulting, but you wouldnt believe how many people do it, ex. one locked and one unlocked).

i locked them in and drove it down the street and then back to my house (1/2 mile+ round trip) and spun everything a good 5-7 revolutions with it up in the air

and no offense taken i know that theres nothing common about sense...
