Default beans idm upgrade

is the idm upgrade worth it? Can you safely do the mod yourself? I have seen the DIY IDM mod but Instructions seem unclear.

ok, what kind of performance does the idm mod do? does it harm anything? does it hurt your fuel mileage?

i have a 7.3 2001

I've seen threads where people actually lost power with it... Threw a stock IDM back in and gained the power back... Just run the truck.

I had some "store credit" at Swamp's and used it to get thier IDM, seemed to have a but more pep at throttle change, but that was all I noticed.

I've done the mod myself with a lower voltage e99 and all I noticed was a slightly jerky on/off throttle (6spd manual).

oh ok, It would nice to have better throttle response but would not want the jerkyness.(6spd also)

It's not bad, just keep the RPMs low at low speeds and you won't notice. If you are high in the rpms and an almost closed throttle position it gets snappy on/off throttle.

And just to be clear, I modded my IDM instead of buying the Bean's IDM.
