Default Exhaust for towing

I just got my powerstroke dually and i need to put a bigger exhaust on it for pulling. i had a 95 12v before that i put a 5" exhaust on and it was so loud that i could not hear my friend next to me in a regular cab and the radio had to be cranked up to hear the music when i was pulling a trailer. i use my truck for my family hotshot business and ranch so i spend a lot of time running down the road. i like the bigger exhaust but i don't want to be droned out of my pick up. So my question is how loud is the 5" on the 7.3 when pulling a trailer? thanks for your consideration

There's really no "exhaust" for towing alot of guys do a 4 inch system, I have a 4inch going to a 6 inch tip that comes out in felt of the passenger tire and its not real loud only when turbo spools, I think you find the ford is a much quieter cab than the dodge

You just need free'er flowing to keep the EGTs down, 4" I imagine will be fine but others with more towing experience can comment on that.

I have an MRBP 4" turbo back with there straight shot muffler on a short bed. It exits behind the wheel. Only when I rod on the truck with the windows down that I actually hear the exhaust note. Cruising is quiet and the majority of noise heard in the cab is the engine crack/pop and turbo.

A 4" kit will flow as much as you could ever need.

4" or 5" preferably 4" unless you like the deeper sound i have a 5" mbrp exhaust and its not loud at all strait piped.Cummings are ussaly loud and some of those trucks have bad sound proofing. just dont go with magnafllow exhaust they never sound good on a diesel in my opinion. mbrp, silverline, grand rock, pypes ect all are great companies just gota look around mbrp the most expensive but they sound great
