The non diesel rated stuff does not have the anti-foam additive that our PSD's need so badly.
It may be diesel rated, but I have yet to see a 10-30 that is.

We have been running champion oils lately and really like analysis we have seen and the improvement in powerstrokes.but its much more expensive! We also have been running 10w30 rotella in some Duramax and Isuzu fleet trucks.
I've never cared for rotella, but haven't had any issues with it in the 10w30. I will note that our primary oil in the shop is valvoline blue.
Rev-x or zddp additives also help a bit with the powerstrokes.
Ps shell makes virtually any oil with a rotella packages. Our local parts stores carry 10w30 and 10w40 in rotella. http://www-static.shell.com/static/can-en/downloads/products_services/lubricants/rotella/penzoil_quaker_rotella_275_s_001605.pdf

this is where ive found it...
PowerStroke
i told the mechanic and he put in 10w30 idk if it was diesel rated of not so....
do i need to do an immediate oil change or will it be fine for a while like i said its been like 5 months now and no problems that i can think of other than my engine grinds at about 65 mph and 2300 rpms on coast or slght acceleration sooo.... idk if its related or not

I wouldn't run a 10w30 in a powerstroke, if I couldn't verify it was diesel rated it would be out that second. Valvoline blue is available in Napa and advance auto, it can be purchased at times at a great value (buy one get one, or 15.99 a gallon) personally I feel its a better off the shelf option that that samples much better at 5k

Unless I missed something my owners manual says that a 10w-30 is the preferred oil weight under 30*, just got to make sure it is a C (compression) oil like Rotella T5.
