what chip out there is worth it. i have been looking at a bunch of different kinds of chips but cant make up my mind. anyone have any recommendations?

Moved to the 7.3 section... I agree with Luke, there are lots of custom tuners out there that will set you up with some great tunes on a TS chip... Tony Wildman, PHP, Gearhead, Swamps, Beans, Tyrant, DI, Elite to name a few..

It's kind of a pick your poison type thing. Call them up and see which one you like talking to the most..

 

well TS looks good and all but is it safe for my truck. im running a banks 6 gun tuner and i keep reading that you can stack them with any chip. but banks rec-amends the big hoss chip. of corse i get it they want too sell there product. but its only one position chip. lame

 

You can not stack any two chips on a 7.3L powerstroke...

 

is it possible for TS to have a smoker setting installed on there chip. i dont like too roll smoke all the time. but its nice to have some form of defense against those buttmunches that like to **** off big trucks because they think they are slow.

No.. Once you "stack" a TS chip or any chip that actually is attached to the PCM, you will override any other tuning and the truck will run on the Chips programming...

 

ok thanks for clearing that up. banks clams you can stack with any chip. im pissed for buying the 6 gun. should have just gone with a chip. what about a smoker setting? do you know of any chip that will come with that setting?

 

Just sell the banks stuff and get a TS with some tunes... Almost all the tuners can make you a smoke setting but it's pretty much worthless. You will get the same effect in a high horse setting...

Matt @ Gearhead won't do it though and I give him props for that...

 

well im not defiantly not one of those guys who just blow smoke because they can. i just want some justice for those asses out there that think they rule the road. its fun every once and a while to show them whos boss with a little smoke and alot of power.
