I don't drive it much so the other day I figured I'd let it run a while.. the fuel light was on.. it ran probably ten minutes then started idleing ruff like it ran out of fuel and died. I added 5 gallons of fuel an stil nothing.. fuel pump is running oil an fuel filter are 600 miles old. Hpop is full of oil.It smokes white when crancking. The wait to start light comes on as normal. Any ideas?

 

Check the fuel bowl... Make sure there is fuel in there.

I ran my truck out of fuel on my way to fill it back up this spring. I had to add over 5 gallons of diesel before I could get it to start and stay running. Hope this helps.

 

Have you verified that you are getting fuel to the heads?

White smoke is good... It's trying to start...
