the pump could be getting weak. and on the SD's, i think it's called hydro boost or something. they use the power steering pump for the power brakes. the OBS used a vacum boost. on the super charger. i have no idea...

yeah it's not horrible. my 99 whines a little bit but my fluid is pretty crappy. but the pump should be good at 150,xxx. with you'rs it could just be the fluid. so don't quote me on the pump being bad. but replacing it shouldn't be to bad. i know on the OBS you have to pull the pulley and then anbolt the pump from the bracket so it's probably the same on the SD's. you will need a pulley puller kit.

I am not a fan of Lucas products but they make a good one that works wonders on our PS pumps and systems...

Remove as much as you can (2qts or so) and replace with Lucas Powersteering leak and conditioner stuff.

You can get it at wal-mart for about 5-6 bucks. Fixes 90% or better of the issues.

Empire Diesel Performance makes a supercharger kit for our trucks, its not cheap, but its slick as hell. Its compounded with a 38R or 40R type turbo as well.

A buddy of mine in Oregon has it on his truck and its a pulling fool.
